It borders to the north with Veracruz and Puebla, to the east with Chiapas, to the west with Guerrero and to the South with the Pacific Ocean, where Mazunte is located. The pleasant sub-tropical climate and the tranquility of the inland places attract most travelers from the Oaxaca Valley. It has peaks of over 3,000 meters in height, one of the deepest caves in the world, virgin beaches, hidden jungles, and luminous valleys that host populations where, like a melting pot, they blend together the cultures of many peoples who have lived here forever: Zapotec, Mixtec and the other fourteen ethnic groups still present in Mexico, including the afromestiza and the Spanish one.
From a cultural point of view, Oaxaca is without a doubt the most diversified Mexican state.
